Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney welcomed a Democratic push to repeal U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada after their sweeping midterm victory, saying Friday that restoring free trade would lower costs for American families and benefit U.

The action, according to the Associated Press, does not prevent a future president from redecorating the Oval Office itself, which Trump has filled with portraits, a copy of the Declaration of Independence and gold finishes as part of his sweeping renovations to the overall White House, including the construction of a new ballroom.
